1. Data controller

2. What data we process and why
Browsing data
As with any website, the server that hosts it automatically records some technical data about visits (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). This data is used only to run the website and to protect it from misuse and cyber attacks. Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is kept for the period set by the hosting provider and is not used to profile you.
Requests via WhatsApp, phone or email
The website has no forms that store data and does not sell online. When you tap a WhatsApp button or use the Contact page, WhatsApp opens with a ready-written message: it is up to you whether to send it. We use the data you send us (name, phone number, message content, any photos) only to reply to you and to handle your request for information or your purchase. Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Restricted area
The restricted area is used only by ChimParts staff to publish parts; it does not collect any visitor data.
3. Third-party services
- WhatsApp (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd., Meta group): the messages you send us pass through the WhatsApp service, which processes them in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.): the website’s fonts are downloaded from Google’s servers, to which your browser discloses its IP address. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
- Machine translation services (MyMemory by Translated S.r.l., DeepL SE): the texts describing the parts and the website’s own texts (titles, descriptions, categories) may be translated into English and French automatically. Only the text to be translated is sent to these services, never any visitor data.
- Hosting provider: hosts the website and processes technical browsing data on our behalf, as data processor.
4. How long we keep data
Conversations and contact details are kept for as long as needed to handle the request; if a sale takes place, tax documents are kept for 10 years as required by law. Technical browsing data is kept for the log retention period of the hosting provider.
5. Disclosure of data
Data is never sold or made public. It may be disclosed only to those who help us provide the service (e.g. couriers for shipping, our accountant for tax obligations) and to the authorities where required by law.
6. Your rights
You can ask at any time to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, object to processing or receive it in a portable format (Articles 15–22 GDPR), by writing to us at the contact details above. If you believe that your data is not being processed correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live.
7. Cookies
The website uses no profiling or analytics cookies. The only cookie a visitor can receive is a technical one that remembers the language chosen. Full details are in the cookie policy.
